America’s Criminal Injustice System

Is America winning its never ending War on Crime? Depends on who’s keeping score. Over 2 million people are put in U.S. prisons each year, where a larger percentage of the population is behind bars than any other place on earth (60% of which are non-violent offenders).

Profit motives behind the vast prison-industrial complex has resulted in punishing far too many with sentences that far outweigh their crimes, while “organized” criminals with ranking positions in the power structure are too often above the law and unaccountable for heinous acts that none dare call “crime.”
